Privacy
This page is written to be friendly to PIPEDA, Canada's private-sector privacy law, and to Quebec's Law 25. It says what we collect, why, and who else sees it.

What we collect
When you sign in with Google, X, or Apple, we get the name and email they send. Apple may send a private-relay address or no email. You can also add a neighbourhood, a short bio, and a 10-second intro video. At signup we ask for your date of birth. We store it on your account and do not show it on your public profile. YouSellIt is for people 18 and older. Listings include the 10-second pitch, the price, the neighbourhood, and the words on the clip. We store messages, offers, meetup plans, and the status of a payment. We do not store your full card number. Stripe handles the card.
Why
We use this to run the marketplace: show listings, keep your account, hold a payment until the meetup, and let the buyer and seller talk. If email is turned on, we use your email to send notices about a message, a meetup, or that your account is ready.
Marketing email is off unless you check the box when you sign up. That box starts unchecked. Meetup email about a meetup you are already in is separate. It does not use that box. A sign-up confirmation, when email is turned on, is sent once after an adult saves their date of birth. It does not use that box. If email is not turned on, the sign-up is still saved and nothing is sent.
Who we share it with
Stripe, for payments. The company that hosts the app and the database. An email provider, if email is set. We do not sell your personal information. The other person in a deal sees what the app already shows them, such as your first name, neighbourhood, and intro video when the rules allow it.
Access or deletion
You can delete your account from Me. That anonymizes your account, your listings, and your videos, and signs you out. You cannot sign in to that account again. Email support@yousellit.ai and ask to see what we hold about you. We will respond. We may keep payment and dispute records we are required to keep. The exact address of a meetup stays hidden until close to the time, including from people who are not in that deal.
If your information is exposed
Email Privacy Officer, privacy@yousellit.ai and describe what happened. The privacy officer assesses the report and notifies the people affected and the authorities when the law requires it.
